Wikman to appear on WAMC Radio, Sept 29

Allan Wikman was planning to run on the "1776 The Birthday Party" line, an independent line that he created.

Because his petitions were challenged by a Democratic Committeeman, and the challenge held up in court, Wikman is off the ballot as of this week.

Fans of Allan Wikman can hear from him directly in an
upcoming interview on WAMC; probably Monday, September 29, 2008.

Sad to say, i saw & heard him @ the Rocking Horse Ranch " Debate",,

Wickman embarrased himself,,,, & everyone there felt bad for him,,,

He never should have subjected himself to that public redicule,, He was totally unprepared for any question,

He should just enjoy his retirement & SHHHHHHHH,,,

This is a disgrace. I was told the challenges were hand delivered by Democratic lawyer Andy Zweben to the Board of Elections.

Gotta love those Democrats - using legal technicalities to knock a 75 year old guy off the ballot.

You can bet my AARP card I'm not voting Democrat now.

Mr. Wikman, you put forth a great effort. Mike Hein must have felt very threatened by you to hire a lawyer to challenge your petitions.

I hope that you will run again.

Alan is a gentleman. I feel bad for him but this is routine business for candidates. It was up to Alan to submit good solid petitions.

It was Alan Wikman's right to run for public office, too bad that someone in the political hierarchy decided to deprive him of that right out of political expediency.

Alan submitted petitions with fatal flaws. It not uncommon for signatures to be ruled ineligible by the BOE. Most candidates submit petitions with at least 2x's as many signatures than are required. It is unfortunate, but not uncommon.

Whats with the Yes and Auerbach signs near the thruway? Don't these people follow the law?

Anonymous 5:23, I've seen your comments on all the blogs. Take a closer look at the "Yes" sign! It does not say "Yess" as in Robin Yess, Republican candidate for state assembly. Rather, it is a democrat endorsed sign to vote "Yes" on Prop 1.

However, we republicans will gladly accept any "Yes" and "Yess" confusion when we see Auerbach, Hein, and "Yes" signs together.
