More Blogs, More Fun!

The staff at Ulster Politics would like to welcome Clark Richters back to the blog world. His new blog is "Clark Richters Blog.... Politics, humor and much more".

At Ulster Politics Headquarters, we all think that More Blogs = More Fun, and that's why we keep a list of links to all the Ulster County Political Blogs at the top of our page. We want to make it easy for the blog readers to see all the opinions out there.

If there is a link that we are missing, be sure to let us know, and we'll get it on the link list.

How about a story about Ulster County Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum double dipping? Are there alot of Sheriffs that can do this? I thought a Sheriff can only hold one public office? I don't buy the excuss he needed the gas money.

Thanks..

Shameless. Instead of printing a retraction, Blaber sweeps this under the rug.

http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:tSu0Yq-gsyMJ:blabernews.blogspot.com/2008/07/blaber-prepares-to-steam-roll-over.html+blaber+freeman+ira+fusfeld&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd

Apparently, the Freeman gets 5 times the daily hits Blaber gets.

I think the 'Spitzer' Steamroller broke down, and rolled back over Blaber's foot.

OK, so there are various political parties and we all know what they stand for:

Democrats: Provide a social safety net for those in trouble, more socially oriented;
Republicans: For smaller government, more business oriented;
Conservatives: For miniscule government, a government which does the minimum;
Independence: For Reform to develop non partisan results.

But what about the so-called Working Families Party which has endorsed Mike Hein and Elliot Auerbach. What do they stand for?

HIGHER TAXES.

The Working Families party wants an additional payroll tax - (that means a tax on workers!). They also want your hard earned tax dollars to go for - political campaigns. Don't we see enough political campaign commercials without having our tax dollars go to pay for them.

The Working Famlies party stands for concepts far to the left of most Ulster County residents. However, since Mike Hein tried to get the Conservative line and lost it, and tried to get the Independence line and lost it he had to settle for this line - row E on the ballot.

We all know Mike Hein stands for higher taxes - after all he's proposed higher taxes every year since he's been County Administrator. However, to take a political party line for a party which actually advocates for higher taxes - pulleeeeze - give me a break!

Sounds like Hein has been begging for endorsements. How can he go from the Conservative line to the WFP. That's like Stalin turning capitalist.

BERNARDO:
IF HEIN REALLY WANTS TO HELP HOMEOWNERS,
HE SHOULD CAP PROPERTY TAXES

Accord-County Executive candidate Len Bernardo today blasted Ulster County Administrator Mike Hein for his paltry response to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, calling it “too little, too late, and a clumsy attempt to divert attention from the skyrocketing property tax burden imposed on Ulster County homeowners.”

“This sub-prime mess has been festering for years,” said Bernardo, “and suddenly Mr. Hein has discovered that we have a problem in Ulster County that everyone else has been reading about for months on end.”

“But bad as the sub-prime mess has been, the gargantuan property tax burden imposed on homeowners in this county during the last few years has affected far more than the few who were duped into taking mortgages they could not afford. The skyrocketing tax burden hurts every homeowner, every business, every employer and is one of the reasons that jobs are leaving this county and new employers are staying away,” said Bernardo.

“If Mr. Hein is really serious about helping our cashed strapped citizens, he should immediately cap the property tax levy, hire a team of auditors to ferret every dime of waste out of county government, and start sending property tax refund checks to the people of Ulster County,” said Bernardo.

Bernardo is a registered independent running for County Executive on a platform that includes cutting the property tax burden, reducing waste in county government and making an aggressive effort to bring new jobs to Ulster County. He is the co-owner of Skate-Time 209, which was named small business of the year in 2006. He is the former President of Data Communique International, a 350 person, $65 million a year printing business.

Mike Hein and Elliot Auerbach do not have the common sense or political where-with-all to make the changes that are necessary to change the incompetence and corruption in Ulster County. We need to bring in a new and competent team. Vote for Quigley and Bernardo in November for some much needed change in Ulster County.

I was at the children's parade in Kingston Friday night and I saw Len Bernardo and Lew Kirschner walking together in the parade. Mike Hein was no where to be seen. Looks like Lew may be supporting the Independence guy after all.

Looks like Blaber's wrong, Mike Hein is obviously NOT everywhere.

Mike Hein was at the County Bvilding that night to watch the fireworks, in the comfort of air conditioning.

I DID see Hein at the county building with what I summized to be his family.

Had to put this here, incase fatass denyies my post.

BILL CLINTON VETOED IT in 1997? That is what 1:16 was referring to 1:37.

The republican controlled congress passed it, and sent it to Clinton's desk. Schummer has the same mental illness Hincey suffers from, called deficient basic math skills. Neither of them could pass remedial algebra, class number087 at SUNY. 10 years + 1997 = 2007.
