You’ve heard of hacking – you know, when someone breaks into another person’s computer. Well we at Ulster Politics want to talk about government hacking.
We won’t be doing much original reporting here, the Times Herald Record has done one heckuva job for us. Today, County Executive Mike Hack hired 4 fellow hacks to be paid government salaries by Ulster County Suckers . . . err . . . ahh . . . .taxpayers we mean.
Starting with March Gallagher. Hein has put Gallagher in charge of economic development because of her experience at the IDA. GIVE IT A BREAK. Not one new project was done under Gallagher’s tenure at the IDA. NOT ONE. This is pure political payback. To the victors go the spoils and to the taxpayers go the bill. Suckers.
Vin Martello. A nice enough guy but he was Hein’s advertising guy during the campaign. He booked Hein’s limited TV commercials and now has a place on the county payroll. Nice guy, but still a HACK.
Susan Plonski and Suzanne Holt – we don’t have much background against them. The bottom line though is that Hein has piled on a lot of high priced staff at a time when private sector jobs are fleeing

Where did these jobs come from? Were they County jobs that have been reassigned? Were they jobs created by the charter? Did Hein simply create more jobs out of thin air? I don't know and I am very interested to learn.
So who did you want to see in these positions? Nasty little comments are not a substitute for constructive opinion.
How about Sandy Mathis from Greene County? They are KICKING our ass in Economic Development.
But nooooo.... we want "Miss I did JACK at the Ulster County IDA" on the 6th floor.
And why if Ms. Gallagher is in the planning department, does she report directly to Michael Hein and work on the 6th floor?
What's the story with Mario? The Millionaire Boys funded their own races in 2008 that would leave Mario with a load of cash. Pete raised over a 100 grand yearly without doing squat. Mario, being the "doctor" must be tripling that figure from his cronies alone. Two years, no real expenses, the guy's gotta be sitting on a 1/2 mil. I can only assume Mario is the Bank, why else would the GOP put up with such an arrogant blowhard. The U.C. GOP Crown: King Mario, his lovely, double lovely Knightyess & .....and the Executive Board Follies.
Give money straight to Nina. She will win even though Mario is trying to prevent a cross endorsement. Can you imagine Mario's Richie-Rich-partner wants to sink Nina, so she doesn't like bumper stickers. At least Skater Boy had the balls to speak up.

Everyone else in the Republican Party got themselves to the meeting.
She wants our support. Maybe she should show up to the meetings, or at least send a representative from her campaign.
She didn't support Quigley, Bernardo or Yess... maybe we should all stay neutral on her campaign as well.

Nina is just a little to slick for her own good. She is either a Republican or she isn't. Al Spada never missed meetings.
I say let's find a good Republican to primary her! What a crock of sh*t, not showing up to the meeting this morning. She had better decide which side she is on and decide now, you can't have it both ways Nina!

This is the job creation plan Hein/Spada had in mind from the beginning.
Mario couldn't raise $50,000.00 in a single year. All he has done is spend Savago's money. The money you see in the reports is just candidate raised money. He takes the Legislator's donations and then give 1/2 of it back to them. My guess is the Legislators have learned their lesson and will keep their money and spend it all on their campaigns.
Now he is going to have a fashion show to raise big bucks for the County Legislators races. I would bet my paycheck: the fashion show to benefit GOP never happens. He's all talk.

Spada missed plenty of meetings, he was slick, Nina is real & has kids & responsibilities other than the GOP on her weekends,
Saturday A.M. meetings suck anyway, i'll give ya my evenings but weekends belong to me & my family except during campaign season.

to 11:36am (aka butch dener), if you feel it necessary to leak details from Republican Executive meetings, perhaps you should resign as Chair of the New Paltz GOP. Talk about passive aggressive!
Nina is in trouble. If she wasn't, she would be a good soldier and make nice with the Republicans. She needs the Democrats and she knows it. As for being nonpartisan, that does not hold water, not even close. Isn't every elected official non partisan? Give it a rest, it is a poor excuse for not supporting your own party's designee.

We at Ulster Politics have no idea what 9:47 is talking about.
If by chance it is referring to 8:01, the person who referred to Mr. Dener, we can assure everyone involved that the assertion by 8:01 that 11:36 was Mr. Dener was a good guess by a reader.
Perhaps the person who made the allegation was right.
But we can assure you that we had nothing to do with it and that is was only a guess on someone's part.
While we do see IP addresses, we have no way of knowing who posters are unless they are identified by their own computer system, or had previously identified themselves to us and we chose to flag it and track it. We can assure you that we do not have enough time or the inclination to do the latter.
We all have families and things to do on the weekend, but WE managed to show up for Saturday's meeting and most of us are not running for anything.
Nina is supposed to be our top candidate for the party. I expected her to be there. Either this race is important to her, or it isn't.
I have kids too, but I showed up to support our candidates. Silly me, I just expected the candidate that I am going to be working for to show up too.
It's her race this year and if she wants people to show up to support her, she should show her face - not have some excuse about her kids.
We all have kids, but WE all aren't running for office are we?
A message to all candidates who want to be supported. Show up or you will lose support of Chairmen and Committeemen.
Nina is a well liked, an excellant county clerk. The GOP should be thrilled she's running in 2009 and hope they can get a few new candidates in office riding her coat tails. Mario should come out loud and clear in his unwavering support for our encumbant clerk.

The dwindling minority party is very funny to read from. Working harder to be even more hated is definitely a good strategy! Keep eating your own, you're almost done.
