Please tell, why do you think that Terry Bernardo is going to win in District One? Thank you.

Anonymous said...

11:24 PM, Terry Bernardo has been endorsed by the Democratic, Republican, Independence and Conservative Parties.

Anonymous said...

If Madsen wins it will be over Dart not Provenzano. District 4 Walter Frey won't win, most likely 2 from each party. District 3 will go all Democrat by a 2-1 margin. Rosendale/Esopus will only have 1 Republican and it may not be Petit. If Zatz/Bartels run there will be 2 Democrats in Gardner/Shawangunk.

Williams and Postupak should win easily.

Bischoff,Provenzano,Hochberg and Terpening win. Noonan, if he is on the ballot wins. Otherwise you nailed it!

Anonymous said...

If you beleive this the Republicans have a clean sweep in November and regain control of the Legislature.

Anonymous said...

Bernardo a win finally!!!! Oh no just an appointment

Anonymous said...

She is running unopposed and cross endorsed. How can she lose.

Anonymous said...

I like Dittus in District 3. There has been no Republican opposition in District 3 for years. Voters, particularly in Hurley are ready for a vote of their own. Hochberg was only appointed, not elected. Dittus wins.

Anonymous said...

Ha ha ha ha! Quite delusional.

Bernardo and the Rochester Town Supervisor Carl Chipman (R) are both running unopposed. There is no Democratic candidate for Supervisor. Maybe that is because there is no Republican candidate for Town Council. Democrat Town Councilmen Archer and Spano are getting a win.... oh, no they are getting an appointment as well with Carl Chipman.

Dems will need to win select districts to hold the Legislature, and they will. They can concentrate on those districts and beat the snot out of the Republicans. The last election for multi-member districts. The winners here have a great opportunity to lay the ground work for the one on one races they face in 2011.

BTW....Bernardo's wife will lose then. Many people are resentful of this anointment. Bernardo sold his soul for his wife's seat.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Noonan could come to Rochester and recruit Republican Town Council candidates. Are the people in Rocheter resentful of the anointment of the Democratic Town Council so that the Republican Supervisor get a free ride? Sounds like you people in Rochester have a double standard.

Anonymous said...

Maloney and Wadnola will sweep the Town of Ulster with Morrow, Hendrick and Kesick. Cahill will lose in a Tsumani of pissed of voters in the Town of Ulster taking it out on Nicky and friends. Cahill will be a casulty of that sweep. You called that one wrong.

Anonymous said...

I think people seem to overlook the fact the Bernardo will drop her Republican affiliation like a hot potato once elected. She's obviously already agreed to the Democratic agenda and that will leave her base supporters twisting in the wind. She is, after all, a NYC person. Opportunistic and underhanded like a pug, but smart enough to advance in the general public.

Anonymous said...

The people in control in Rochester are like a colonial village. Throwbacks to the 18th century and wishing for the 14th.

Anonymous said...

Wadnola? Are you kidding? Doesn't he have enough PUBLIC PENSIONS?

Talk about pissed off voters!

Anonymous said...

Maloney is toast. He is responsible for the over assessments that are costing everyone millions. Wadnola ordered him to over assess when he was supervisor and now everyone else is paying.

Millions in over paid taxes are now due to be refunded to the property owners. The School district, Town and County are on the hook, thanks Jim and Fred! That is a good reason to be pissed, but the voters will forget that right?

Anonymous said...

If the Legislature turns GOP will the Mighty Heiny flip-flop back to GOP?

Anonymous said...

How can Maloney have over assessed a town that is now almost out of money? It sounds to me like the assessments will need to go up to cover all of Nicky's spending.

Money in has to equal money out and money has been flowing out of the Town of Ulster without an equal amount flowing in.

Anonymous said...

Do you think the court ordered reduced over assessments have anything to do with less cash flow? Think about it, lower assessments means lower taxes paid. And these are the highest taxed parcels in the Town. Not to mention the huge payouts associated with these settlements. This has been going on for years.

No to defend Woerner because he did mismanage, but it is not 100% his fault.

Maloney and Wadnola jerked the assessments around to keep "budget %" increase low. Taxes went up, but not because of a huge % increase. They just increased the value of the property, so the taxes went up with the increased values.

You have it 17-16 for DEMS. If Maloney wins, it is 17 to 16, BUT remember that Bernardo is not a Republican, she is Independance Party.

Watch and see if she doesn't sell her support to the side which offers the most. She would decide the majority.

Anonymous said...

12:34, What do you think the Independence endorsements are all about? He is dreaming of that scenario. Len could not be a "player" on his own, so he will force his wife to carry his agenda. Good Luck Len. You better hope for a tie because after election day they will forget who you are.

You're calling a lot of races wrong.

Terpining and Bischoff win. You'll probably get two Dems in Saugerties. Dems might lose Cahill and Decker. That's really about it.

Hochberg wins solely because of the Parete's. They run a machine up there.

Anonymous said...

3:17 - The Parete machine is not the same without Dad at the steering wheel. Julian is in charge of the County now, and he almost had someone primary the Parete's this year. There is no love lost between the Parete's and Schriebman's. Julian's wife is the Chair of the Marbletown Democratic Committee now. The Republicans in Hurley are energized. Yes, there are no Republicans in Marbletown, but look for the Republicans from the Hurley end of the District to put up a good fight. Dittus is worthy and given that Hochberg was appointed, not elected - the two of them are on equal footing with name recognition.

Anonymous said...

Decker maybe. Cahill, Bishchoff and Terpening, no way in Hell do they lose.

Anonymous said...

The Republicans stand a much greater chance of losing Maloney than the Democrats do of losing Cahill.

Anonymous said...

12:05
You obviously don't understand the assessment process. Lower assessments DO NOT mean lower taxes. Actually just the opposite.
Because the tax levy is based on the Town budget. So unless the budget is reduced lower assessments mean hugher taxes.

And to the Rochester haters.
Maybe the residents think that the Town Board is working just fine as it is and want the incumbents back and don't care about what party they are from. I know that is a hard concept to grasp. Judging people on what they do rather than what political party they belong to.

3:17..Julian is not in control of the county right now. He is the laughing stock of Ulster County politics. He has no juice, no respect and can't influence more than his or his wife's votes. Any smart Democrat will run as far from him as possible this election.

You can tout Dittus all you want, the clown is going to get killed in that legislative district. Hochberg beats him by 1000 votes, the Parete's 2000.

Anonymous said...

Williams has a better chance at growing a full head of hair.We already know he won't grow balls.Schneer by a landslide!

Anonymous said...

Watch out for Mark Ingoglio in the 12th. He's a good candidate.

Anonymous said...

11:22, before you defend those Town of Rochester types, read the paper. They are having a fit about no contested elections for county legislature, and then turn around and have no contested elections for town board. Holy Cow. What a bunch of hipoctits. Do us all a favor and shut the hell up.

Anonymous said...

Actually neither the Democrats nor Republicans in Rochester have held caucases. (talking Town elections).
So all this talk of uncontested elections in Rochester is purely rumor and speculation.
Don't believe all you read.
Those are the facts 5:35.
And no need to be so incredibly rude about something you know nothing about.

Anonymous said...

5:35
There is a huge difference between County candidates and Town candidates.
County candidates are nominated by their respective Town committees. The only public interaction is the required signature petition process by registered voters of their respective party.
Town candidates are nominated during caucases. Where any registered voter in that particular party can nominate anybody and any registered voter of that party may vote.

My point is, if the voters don't participate in the caucus, then they have no right to complain about the candidates.

So perhaps you should be the one "shutting the hell up" as you so ignorantly posted.

Anonymous said...

Well 11:16 and 11:30 if you have so much information, why don't you tell us who the Republican Rochester Town Candidates are for Councilman or do we need to get Noonan involved again to recruit candidates?

You people in Rochester are just greedy. You haven't had a Legislator from that backwards ass town in years. Now you want two? If anyone should be screaming, it is the people from Wawarsing. But they are not screaming because even the former Republican Legislators from Wawarsing (Jennings, DePew, etc.) have gotten their asses kicked enough by the Democrats, you don't see them asking for more. Enrollment is heavily Democratic in Wawarsing. You will never see two Legislators from Rochester. Please keep up the infighting in the Republican party. Democrats love to you watch you implode.

Anonymous said...

11:30 and 11:16 - for all your intelligence, you are missing the fact that the conventions are entirely meaningless. Anyone who wants to run for office can carry petitions and get signatures and be in the race. I don't understand why this Manuela woman is bitching. It makes no difference what happened at the convention. Carry your petitions and get them signed. There is nothing stopping you. You are only fracturing the party by this carrying on. Get to work getting signatures and shut up.
