Dirty Tricks in Ulster County Politics

If dirty tricks means desperation, the Hein and Auerbach campaigns must be desperate. The latest trick from the campaign playbook has been to put up Democratic lawn signs on the property of high ranking officials in the Republican Party.

The "sign-putter-uppers" then lay in wait, like a snake in the grass to watch the unsuspecting property owner remove the unauthorized sign from their property, and then SNAP their picture doing it.

The next step will be to submit the photographs to local papers and claim the Republicans are taking down Democratic lawn signs.

Never mind the fact that someone has been beating the crap out of the Quigley and Bernardo signs all over Ulster County. A drive though Route 209 is all you need to do to see that someone has taken a gun and obliterated the top half of many Quigley signs with bullets or beebees. Before they were fixed, some maniac in Stone Ridge had broken the wood stands of the Quigley / Bernardo signs in several locations.

Intimidation... yes. A couple who submitted a letter to the editor critical of Hein and supportive of Bernardo received a phone call from Lew Kirschner telling them that they really shouldn't talk about things that they don't know about. The man that Lew called is a County employee. Lew said that he was the Democratic County Treasurer... that's not too intimating is it? If that man is fired, there will be lawsuits up the ying yang.

On the radio, after a Bernardo ad ran, the host of the show Lew Kirschner told listeners to "not believe the ad and that it's all a bunch of baloney" We hear the Bernardo campaign got 30 free ad spots out of that one.

The dirty tricks started early.... ants.... double tax bills.... being left out of the tourist guide

Ulster County Legislator and UCDC Board Member (and Mike Hein facebook friend too) Hector Rodriguez making false statements, all so he could get the headline in the paper so that Mike Hein could use the headline on his mailer. Apparently Mike Hein still doesn't know the difference between a $1.4 million dollar bond/loan and someone using their own money for a project. At least Rodriguez admitted he was wrong. It seems that Mike is still trying to figure it out.

Never mind the fact that the headlines were retracted. When you use dirty tricks that doesn't matter... the only thing that matters is getting the headline to smear your opponent.

The staff at Ulster Politics has also learned that there have been Denial of Service attacks (DOS) attacks on the LenBernardo.com. Just because they have the dirty tricks doesn't mean that they won't be caught.... All you DOSers.... your IP address is forever registered. Does the address Rivergate LLC, 104 Smith Avenue mean anything to anyone?

The staff at Ulster Politics has also learned that there are even more serious criminal dirty tricks which could end in arrest. Anyone ever seen the clips of "stupid criminals"? Get ready for the Ulster County edition.

Why its the HQ of low income slumlord Stevie Aaron! Uncle to Niccky B. Woerner.

Dont think for a moment folks that any money that Aaron gives out is his own. Its NOT. Its that of the government checks he gets from the county, state and federal government too.

You can catch him at the corner coffee shop [North Front and Wall St] every morning too. As he looks at Bernardo/Quigley HQ plotting his next caper.

Lew Kirschner tries to intimidate anyone who gets in his way...And that's putting it mildly. Now his "son" Mike is running for office.

Let's not let the 2nd generation take over Ulster County.

Let's give all the small business owners, particularly in the City of Kingston and Town of Ulster, a fair chance to run their business free from "intimidation".

Vote in new blood: Quigley and Bernardo

You know what you do, is report the ip address to Road Runner as a possible spammer, sending inappropriate material. Wait a month, and report it again. That IP address will be added to the central spam server, which all SMTP servers use, before accepting mail. Rivergate LLC will no longer be able to send emails, until they get through the weeks of red tape to get themselves off the list.

Who the HELL put up the 500 or so signs along 9W in Ulster? 400 of them are Hein signs. Does anyone think this is suppose to help? I bet it was nicky and jeremy.

If Aaron is involved, there is something underhanded happening. You can bet on it. He is solely responsible for the 25% tax increase in Ulster. It is all because Nickie granted him further tax reductions for his properties that the taxes went up.

Is there anyone out there who wants a County Executive who Steve Aaron is working with?

That's what you'll get if you vote for Hein.

Vote for 0uigley and Bernardo - two men who aren't afraid to stand up the the Kingston insiders club.

These people are so feeble minded, to think the "Lawn Sign" is the master of all campaign tools. The fact that there are those, who tear down the lone McCain/Palin sign, or destroy Bernardo signs, for what purpose, if not out of FEAR. But the fear of what? That a sign might convince a driver of a candidate's qualifications for an office?

Ridiculous, of course, but what else can we expect from a population ready to elect the most UNQUALIFIED candidate, with enough questionable associates as to disqualify him from an FBI or CIA position. He wouldn't pass the security check. What can we expect from a population who stand ready with their hands out, asking what the country (Obama) and do for THEM, not what they can do for their country.

Oliveri and Zweben are the links in the chains of deceit and fraud: Hein to Werner to Sottile to Spada

Joe Bubel...
I agree with you. Signs don't vote but people do. I could never image Mrs. Clinton winning the senate seat after just moving to NYS within the deadline to run for office. Is it appearent that her interest in living here was to get a senate seat. It probly would have been better if we just switched back to having the State appoint our senators. Does it raise concern that we elect a criminal as State Comptroller over another person because he is not a Republican? How about electing Mr. Eliot Spitzer on a platform of change that could never possibly happen? On day one, it all started to unravel. I am starting to believe that the best way to fix things is to vote all encumbents out.

Swap them all out! I absolutely agree with you! But in the minds of most, the 10% approval of the congress does NOT apply to 'our' representitive. I mean, how else can the congress have such a terrible approval rating, yet Hinchey is 'so' popular. Can anyone answer that for me?

The Save the Lakes folks sent out an e-mail saying that Bernardo supports the Canopy project at Williams Lake and to vote for Hein

Hein is pro casino. You can't save the lakes and be for the slots.

Add the Lincoln Eagle to the list of dirty tricksters - they took my letter endorsing non-politicians Bernardo & Quigley and removed Quigley's name and put it in a full page ad.

Interesting that a publication holding itself out as promoting citizens responsibility to speak out and monitor government would hijack my personal thoughts and writing.

Shame on them!

The elections are now over with the exception of comptroller. Those who protest the issue of signs, ants, who paid for what ad, high crimes and misdemeanors, wake up! This has been the ugly side of politics forever. No one is going to get prosecuted. Thought I would pontificate before this blog vaporizes.

Hein may be pro casino because Oliveri and Spada are getting kicked err I mean retained as consultantsby casinos.

As a Red Blooded GOP and a Bernardo/Quigley supporter, please take down this photo. Hein won, end of story for 2 1/2 years.

Does Sottile get one of the deputy positions under Hein?
